Kismet in accent times, and still today, means Fate or Destiny. It seemed like Kismet was at work when we harvested the tiny amount of Zinfandel from our Oasis property and the equally small harvest of Malbec from Smith Ranch. We decided to co-ferment the two small lots together, not sure of the outcome. But magic, or Kismet, if you would, happened. They were a unique and wonderful complement to each other. Red cherries, plum and spice from our Zinfandel married perfectly with the Malbec with its blackberry, violet and structured tannins. It tastes like no other wine we have made and therefore truly is Kismet. The wine is a blend of 65% Zinfandel from our Oasis vineyard and 35% Malbec from Smith Ranch.
This wine pairs well with grilled or seared pork, beef, lamb, pasta with a light tomato sauce or a creamy tomato based sauce.
